Description
The Part-Time Truck Driver / Facilities Assistant supports the parish’s thrift shop, food pantry, facilities team, and broader parish community. This position is responsible for safely operating parish vehicles to pick up and deliver furniture, household goods, food pantry stock, and other materials. The position also assists with general facilities, maintenance, setup, cleanup, and community-support activities as needed.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, service-oriented, and comfortable performing physically active work in a respectful parish environment.

Transportation, Pickups, and Deliveries

  • Safely operate parish trucks and other assigned vehicles in accordance with all applicable laws and safety procedures.
  • Pick up donated furniture, household goods, appliances, food, supplies, and other materials from homes, businesses, warehouses, partner organizations, and community locations.
  • Deliver furniture, household goods, food pantry stock, and other items to parish programs, clients, community partners, and designated locations.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, moving, securing, and organizing items.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after use and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate pickup and delivery records, including destinations, items transported, and mileage when required.
  • Plan efficient routes and communicate promptly regarding delays, schedule changes, or delivery concerns.
  • Provide courteous and respectful service to donors, pantry recipients, parishioners, volunteers, staff, and community members.
  • Protect the privacy and dignity of individuals receiving services.

Facilities and Parish Support

  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, donations, and other materials throughout parish buildings and properties.
  • Support setup and breakdown for parish events, meetings, worship activities, community programs, and special projects.
  • Assist with general cleaning, organizing, trash and recycling removal, light grounds work, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Help maintain safe, clean, orderly, and accessible storage areas for thrift shop and food pantry inventory.
  • Assist staff and volunteers with sorting, staging, and organizing donated goods and food pantry stock.
  • Report facility, equipment, security, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties that support the facilities team and the needs of the parish community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the parish’s insurance carrier.
  • Ability to safely operate a truck or other assigned parish vehicle.
  • Previous experience driving a delivery, service, moving, or commercial vehicle preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture, boxes, food, and household goods.
  • Ability to work independently while following directions and established procedures.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work a flexible part-time schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a thrift shop, food pantry, nonprofit, church, social-service organization, warehouse, delivery operation, or facilities department.
  • Familiarity with safe lifting, loading, and cargo-securement practices.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections and routine maintenance.
  • Ability to use a phone, text messaging, email, mileage logs, or simple inventory and delivery records.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure. 

Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing 15 feet and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials 50 pounds.

IT & Audio-Visual Technician

Description

The IT & Audio-Visual Technician for the church manages the video camera & sound system in the church to insure that it broadcasted on our platforms and inside the sanctuary correctly, manages and updates the YouTube Mass schedule, coordinates with the Communication Coordinator to insure all aspects of our information & marketing items flawlessly presented at Mass and Events, coordinates and maintains all AV & IT equipment. Responsible for IT support to entire staff working with our IT outsource team.

Requirements

  • Understanding how to operate the video camera controller system
  • Understanding the video projection system and input control board
  • Understanding the audio controller board and how to maintain the balance of sound effectively
  • Understanding broadcasting & livestreaming on multiple outlets such as YouTube, FaceBook, and others.
  • Understanding the Catholic Mass, the various parts of the Mass and how the Mass flows so as to know where to position camera shots.
  • Understand how to interlace video and power point presentations both in the church’s video monitors and on our streaming platforms.
  • Ability to work most weekends; Saturday from 2:30pm to 8pm; Sunday from 6am to 7pm with a break from 2:30pm until 6:30pm. During the week, a schedule will be set according to the needs of the parish.
  • Experience working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, YouTube, ProPresenter, OBS, and others.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to communicate with clergy and staff effectively.  
  • Ability to adapt to changes as they are presented. 
  • IT Infrastructure & Support including:
  • Endpoint management: Deploy, configure, and maintain company desktops, laptops (Mac/PC), mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Network Admin: Monitor office Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity to ensure high-speed stability for data-heavy AV streaming.
  • Security: Manage user permissions, SSO integrations, and ensure all hardware meets diocesan cybersecurity standards in cooperation with our IT outsource provider.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as presented. of the minimum level of knowledge, skills, and ability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs grounds maintenance activities, i.e., mowing, weed-eating, edging, blowing, planting foliage and mulching.
  • Performs shrubbery and tree maintenance activities, i.e., pruning limbs, shaping hedges, cutting branches.
  • Operates various electric, gas and manually powered tools and equipment, i.e., saws, sprayers, air compressors, mowers, blowers, weed-eaters, hedge trimmers.
  • Provides grounds maintenance services; ensures cleanliness, order, and environmentally safe conditions of district property; addresses safety concerns in a time efficient manner; reports real or potential maintenance/repair needs.
  • Ensures proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, and materials utilized; ensures adherence to principles and practices of safe use and operation of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Maintains irrigation system.
  • Removes trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials.
  • Responds to and takes appropriate actions in the event of emergency or critical incidents to resolve, confine or otherwise prevent potentially injurious or hazardous conditions. Is aware of and reports any unauthorized person on the premises.
  • Maintains building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls and woodwork.
