CCW Box of Joy

The Council of Catholic Women will again be coordinating the Box of Joy collection, on behalf of Cross Catholic Outreach. A Box of Joy is a shoebox-sized package that you fill with toys, clothing, school supplies and other treasured items. Box of Joy gifts are sent to children in developing countries such as Guatemala, Malawi and the Dominican
Republic.

We’ll begin distributing the boxes in September and October. The filled Boxes of Joy will then be shipped to Cross Catholic Outreach in early November, in time for the children to receive by Christmas! Each child who receives a Box of Joy also receives a rosary and a booklet in their own language that tells The Story of Jesus. Box of Joy provides hope to children in need.
Each gift represents Christ’s love and might be the only Christmas gift they receive.

A list of gift ideas are available by clicking here. The children love receiving Box of Joy gifts with a personal note, handmade Christmas card, or photo of you or your family. (Parents or teachers should review notes written by children.) Toys Bring Smiles: While necessities are important, we encourage you to fill each box with toys and fun surprises that bring joy, invite play,
and help children feel truly celebrated. There will also be a list of items not to buy.

Please look in a future Bulletin for Box of Joy distribution dates.
