SUMMARY
Guided by the pastoral mission, values and goals of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of Our Mother of Mercy Outreach including all aspects of the interviewing / qualification of clients, client educations programs, and the review / approval of the distribution of funds to community members in need according to establish procedures. Trains and manages volunteers to ensure that clients’ needs are met. Embraces the core value to serve those in need with kindness and compassion. Performs administrative and recordkeeping duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and functions, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this classification. They are not listed in any order of importance. - Create a culture that reflects and supports the vision, goals. and objectives of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Our Mother of Mercy Outreach Ministry.
- Oversee all aspects of Our Mother of Mercy Outreach Ministry to ensure clients receive a proper assessment and maximum benefits.
- Manage all aspects of Our Mother of Mercy Outreach Ministry operated efficiently and effectively.
- Utilize established protocols for evaluating if clients can be assisted.
- Maintains organizational structures, policies, procedures, and forms that allow Outreach volunteers to fulfill their responsibilities.
- Maintains / Administers a computerized database that includes all volunteers and client information.
- Maintains the Master Calendar including all Outreach activities and builds the monthly schedule for the volunteers.
- Train all volunteers on program protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with Our Mother of Mercy Food Pantry and Our Mother’s Attic to assist clients with their needs.
- Collaborates with organizations, such as Catholic Charities and United Way to fulfill the mission of Our Mother of Mercy Outreach Ministry, and ensures all Diocesan, Parish and other regulations are followed.
- Oversee Outreach facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure high standard of cleanliness and maintenance are attained to ensure the safety of all, and all standard of operations are attained.
- Research foundations, corporations, and government agencies to find matches between their interest and the needs of the parish’s programs.
- Builds, maintains, and enhances donor relations with private individuals, foundation representatives, local business representatives, local church and civic leaders and public grant funders.
- Ensures the premises are clean and maintained in a professional manner.
- Oversee and ensure the security systems are maintained and properly utilized
- Drives Parish vehicles, when necessary.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

CATHOLIC FAITH
Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years work experience in program management or equal combination of experience and education.
- Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in an operations role required.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of social services databases, such as CharityTracker preferred but not required.
- Basic mathematical abilities, including the ability to add, subtract, divide, multiply and tabulate.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client services.
- Excellent verbal communication, leadership, teamwork, and active listening skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with all staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- The ability to communicate, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong English language skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day. This person will need to be available in the evening and weekends, as needed. Must be willing to work in conditions of stress and function well under pressure.
Language / Communication Skills
Ability to read and interpret basic correspondence. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have good communication skills.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, dividing, and multiplying.
Physical Requirements
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. The ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to reach, grasp, feel, and see up close and from afar. Must be able to use basic office computer hardware and peripherals, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form.
